I recently received a custom order from simon who wants to make a wall of fame of the LGBT community.
So between Keith Haring and Freddie mercury, i had to do de the portrait of Harvey Milk.

Don't forget to wear a flower in your hair, when he moved to San Fransisco with his boyfriend, they did stay in Castro Area in San Fransisco and did open the shop : Castro Camera

He was a shop owner and took the leadership of the castro shop community and start to defend the gay of unfair laws. He was know as the mayor of Castro.

First Gay Politician

So harvey started as a shop owner but found out that to help and protect the gay community, he could do more at the political level. He was elected at the mayor council.  As the time were rude for gays, he was at the first line. He did record his wills on tape in case somebody shoot him, and did explain that if he was shot in the brain, the murderer shouldn't miss the closet door. (in a sense that a gay who didn't make is coming-out is hiding in the closet).

Well, he did very well with his job as he was murdered for all the things he made, including lord mayor moscone. The city was shocked, especially the castro area with funeral procession with candles.
The,n after his murderer trial and unfair sentence, the city start to burn all along the white nights.

Other things about harvey

Harvey was very fond of Opera.
He was mocked at school because of his big ears, feet and nose.

San fransisco is represented by the transamerica pyramid, the 7-sisters houses and a cable car, maybe alcatraz and the golden gate bridge if you search...
