Oprah is the best example for an illustration of the american Succes : from nothing to the worldwide recognition.
She grew up in a poor village, raised by her grand mother, then sexually abused, pregant at 14 and loose her baby.
She then have found what she loved at school : communication, and she was good at it : she became the most popular girl at her school.

She have been then working for a radio channel,  did well and raised the ladder, step by step. Promotted to a talk show in Chicago with flat audience and strong competition.
She put the basis of her program called "The Oprah Winfrey Show", wich became years after years, the most viewed show on T.V on all time !
I didn't knew lot of things about her, and realised that all theses big interviews were made by her : the Michael Jackson interview, and more recently, the Lance Armstrong Confessions.

Revolution of the Talk Show

Oprah is like an hypnotiser, she can make the people speak, she make feel confortable, she isn't arrogant, help to get the words getting out of the mouth, and she applied that to her show, making events of the the real life becoming incredible. She build an empire around that, with her Talk Show, Magazine,T.V interviews, press, etc....

Passion for Handbags.
 She is rich for sure and have a passion for Handbags, so she wants to buy the cream of thoses. We eventualy saw stories about winfrey wanting to buy a Hermes bag in Paris and denied to enter the store by an unpolite doorman.(she isn't famous in France, and parisian are unpolite). I've check the story into know that she wanted to buy the "Birkin" bag wich is done upon request and is worth a fortune (she allready have 12 of theses.... rich people caprices...)

More Recently in Switzerland, somebody refused to show her a 38.000 € bag as she couldn't afford it. When you are rich but unrecognisable for some people and black, but she cope with that with class!
